This past July I turned 30. So to kick off what my Mom calls “The Best Years of Your Life” I of course threw a big birthday bash. I have always been obsessed with Old Hollywood Movies so I decided to host my party at The Culver Hotel in Culver City. As their website says “A rich and romantic past has awarded the Culver Hotel a distinguished role in cinematic history, having hosted cast members from iconic movies such as Gone with the Wind and The Wizard of Oz .” So as you can imagine it was the perfect setting!
I was pretty much sold on the space just from visiting their website but I knew without a doubt when I walked in to the room they call Mr Culvers Office. The room has chandeliers hanging from the ceiling (everyone who knows me knows my obsession with chandeliers) and the decor is all black and white with pops of red.
My Dad saved a pair of Ruby Slippers I wore when I was a little girl which gave me idea to add some Wizard of Oz homages to the evening. Obviously I had to wear red shoes and display my Ruby Slippers!
I enlisted some of my favorite vendors to help me pull off my vision. For hair and Makeup I used Beautie By Stephanie. I knew she could help me channel my “Inner Marilyn Monroe” as well as glam up some of my girlfriends. Stephanie and her team not only made us all feel beautiful but they were also so much fun to hang out with while us girls got ready!
Unique Floral Designs created the most perfect arrangements for the day filled with some of my favorite flowers.
Kelly Patrice made some signs that really helped bring everything together! The Culver Hotel Already has a Cocktail called the “Ruby Slipper” so that was a must for one of my signature cocktails and then I added two of my favorites.. “Dirty 30 Martini” and a “Becuase I am getting Old Fashioned” the drinks were beyond delicious and the bartender was so much fun!
For music I had Grant from Vox DJ’s and he kept everyone dancing all night!
Last but not least my sweet friend Katrina Jayne Photography and her husband took these amazing photos!
And of course the day wouldn’t have been complete with some of my JAE ladies!
It was a perfect way to celebrate turning 30! I hope you enjoyed!
