Paige and Kyle hold a special place in my heart. They were the very first couple to trust me to plan their wedding! I have known Paige for a long time and when she got engaged the first thing I asked her was can I plan your wedding? I will do it for free! I couldn't believe she agredd! I had no idea what I was doing but I was so exicted to see if this was the right path for me and luckily their wedding hepedd me realize it was!
Paige and Kyle's journey to "I Do" was a difficult one. I don't think I have ever met two people so strong and brave in my life. They spent 7 months apart while Kyle was on a deployment in Baghdad. They did everything possible to keep their relationship strong while he was away. The first thing Kyle did when he stepped foot off the bus at the Marine Corps Base, where Paige was anxiously waiting to be reunited with him, was get down on one knee and propose.
After a short time of living in the bliss of their engagement they learned that Paige's Dad was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. They decided to rush the wedding plans in hopes that he would be able to walk her down the aisle. Kyle moved into Paige's Dad's house with her so they could help take care of him. Sadly just two months before their wedding Paige's Dad passed away. I was ready to start making the calls to vendors to see about postponing the wedding but Paige decided to move forward with the original date and she started thinking of ways to honor him on her special day.
Instead of getting ready at a hotel Paige chose to get ready at her Dad's house. It was such a great way to feel his presence that day. The photos and videos of her and her bridal party there are something she will cherish forever. One of her bridesmaids bought her a charm with a photo of her and her dad to hang on her bouquet.
On the seat where he would have sat we placed his old Pilot Uniform and Badge with a photo of him and where Kyle's Late Mother would have sat was a photo of her and a bouquet of roses. Paige's oldest brother and her stepdad walked her down the aisle to where her other brother officiated.
Everyone pitched in to make the day everything they ever wanted. Her Mom and Aunt made edible chocolate frames with one of their engagement photos for the favors. I got together with a few of her friends to make all the flower arrangements. Even one of Paige's customers at work made a sign for them. It was so special how everyone wanted to contribute.
Although the day was difficult at times it was also a day full of so much love and joy as well. It was such an honor working with Paige and Kyle and see the strength of their love for each other.
